Damaso Donato
December 11th, 1928 - September 18th, 2011
Damaso M. Donato, 82, longtime resident of Salinas, passed away on September 18, 2011, at home surrounded by loving family. Damaso previously worked in agriculture as a field worker for over 28 years. He was born on December 11, 1928 in San Francisco del Rincon, Guanajuato, Mexico. He is survived by wife, Maria Donato of Salinas daughters Herlinda (Jose) Perez of Salinas Evangelina (Francisco) Garcia of Salinas Raquel (Raul) Morales of Salinas Maria G. Donato of Salinas Elizabeth Donato of Salinas Anna Donato of Salinas Leonor (Jose Guadalupe)Rosas of Mexico Juanita Donato of Salinas Maria (Felipe) Munoz of Mexico sons Damaso, Jr. (Enid) Donato of Prunedale Antonio (Lupita) Donato of Salinas brother, Juan Donato of Santa Cruz sister, Emma Donato of Chicago, Illinois 18 grandchildren 2 great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2011 2-9pm with a Rosary Recital 7pm all at Healey Mortuary 405 N. Sanborn Rd. Salinas, CA 93905. A Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, September 23, 2011 10am at St. Mary of the Nativity Catholic Church 424 Towt St. Salinas, CA 93905. Burial to follow funeral services at the Garden of Memories Cemetery 850 Abbott St. Salinas, CA 93901.

Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
