Dana Ralph Witzel, age 64, of Oakdale, MN, passed away at home surrounded by his family on September 21, 2024, after a 5-year battle with Early Onset Alzheimer’s. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Marlene, and his brother, Mark Witzel. Dana is survived by his three children, Rochelle (Dane), Gabrielle, and Nathan, and their mother, Carolyn Witzel; his beloved grandchildren, Adysen and Alice; his siblings, Valorie (Al), Dawn, Wendy (Doug), and Dale; nieces and nephews, military personnel, and friends. He is remembered as a proud Veteran, serving in the 82nd Airborne and with the 257th Military Police Company in Desert Storm. He spent much of his life giving back to veterans, acting as the commander for VFW Post 1350, and working as a realtor for the Homes for Heroes corporation. He was a devoted father and grandfather who taught his children a love for the outdoors, the need for a sense of humor, and the importance of family. The Celebration of Life will be on Friday, October 11, 2024, with the visitation beginning at 11 a.m. and service at noon in the sanctuary of St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, 900 Stillwater Road, Mahtomedi. A luncheon will be held at the VFW Post 1350, 2483 7th Ave E, St Paul, MN 55109. In place of flowers, memorials are preferred.
