Daniel Johannes Christensen

Daniel Johannes Christensen, at the age of 19, passed away on May 14 th , 2016. He had an accidental tragic death while working on the fishing vessel Starbound .Daniel was born on July 14 th, 1996 in Everett, WA. He is survived by his parents Arline and Stewart, sister Teja, brother Kolben, grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, girlfriend, and friends.Daniel lived out the majority of his life and schooling in Kirkland, WA where he was raised. There, he found his passion for athletics that shaped and influenced his life in so many ways. Athletics were such a large part of Daniels life including basketball, wrestling in Junior High, playing rugby for the Lions, and most importantly, football. Daniel started playing football at the age of 8 and continued through the years building his skills as a player and a person and being the recipient of many awards and honors. One award which he was most proud of was his senior year at Juanita High School being awarded Defensive Player of the Year. He was regarded as an incredible leader, mentor, and friend amongst all of his teammates where he embodied these traits in everything he did.After graduating from Juanita High School in 2014, Daniel and his family moved on to a boat in Edmonds, WA where he lived for 2 years before moving to his first apartment in Ballard with his girlfriend Elodi in April of 2016.At the age of 17, Daniel began his career to become a maritime engineer with Aleutian Spray Fisheries working on ships including the Kiska Sea, Liberator, and Starbound. Daniel learned and grew quickly being promoted to Oiler on his way to becoming an engineer in his 2 years with the company. He was extremely proud to be a part of a family business and loved what he did.m ;AR-SA Daniel was quiet yet not afraid to speak up and defend those he loved and what was right. He was motivated, hard-working, passionate, funny, a leader, intelligent, warm, loving, and always always smiling.
