Daniel C. Hinze

Daniel Carl Hinze, 63, of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, passed away suddenly after spending a beautiful day of boating with his family on August 5, 2017. Loving Husband of 22 years to Lucy. Proud Father of Bob. Dan was born September 26, 1953 in St. Louis, Missouri to Marilyn and Carl Hinze. He was raised by Marilyn and Bob Tibbles and was the big brother of Rick, Bob, Dennis and sister, Lyn. Dan was also big brother to his Hinze siblings, Jim, Brenda, Elaine and David. As a boy, Dan loved playing baseball and ping pong. He also ran cross country in school. He graduated from Clayton High School and received a bachelor's degree from Centre College in Danville, Kentucky. Dan moved to Colorado in 1982 and began working for Forest Oil Corp. He met his future wife, Lucy Solis there and they married August 27, 1995. Dan and Lucy welcomed their beloved son, Robert Daniel, in 2000. Dan enjoyed watching the Cardinals play baseball and was an avid golfer and skier. He loved taking his family boating in Pueblo Reservoir for water skiing and tubing. A Celebration of Dan's Life will be held on Tuesday, August 15, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at Cherry Hills Community Church-Dixon Chapel, 3900 Grace Blvd, Highlands Ranch, CO 80126. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made toward a scholarship fund in Memory of Dan C. Hinze to St. John's Military School, P O Box 5020, Salina, KS 67402. Service Information
