Daniel James Miller

August 20th, 1954 - August 3rd, 2024

Daniel James Miller of Adrian, Oregon, passed away August 3, 2024.  Dan was born August 20, 1954 to James Holly Miller and Selma Miller.

He graduated from Adrian High School in 1972.  After high school he attended Heavy Equipment School in Weiser, Idaho.  For 40 years he worked for several different farms in the Adrian/Nyssa area.  Some of the best memories were being able to go to work with Dad, if it was helping with irrigation, driving the tractor or being put to work weeding an onion field.  Dad also drove trucks for Transystems for several years hauling sugar beets. Up to a few months before his passing he worked for Ishida Farms.  He always had to be busy.

Dad’s greatest pride and joy were his grandchildren. He always tried to attend birthday parties and school/sporting events.    Dad enjoyed whenever he got the opportunity going along with his oldest daughter and family on trips to Grand Canyon, Yellowstone and the Oregon Coast.  In his spare time he loved riding his Harley or tinkering with his model railroad.

Dad is survived by his former wife Debbie Pimental and their 5 children, Shana(Sam)Ferri of Latrobe, Pa; Casey(Sarah)Miller of John Day, Or; Leslie Miller of Nampa, Id; Lewis(Cassie) Miller of Tigard, Or; and Drew Miller of Adrian whom has been there and taken care of Dad til his final days. Grandchildren, Hailey, Kayla, Cam, Jenna, James, Carmen, Taylor, Tanner, Connor, Kaden, Corrine, and Camille.

Sister Libby(Roger)Hanna of Forest Grove, Or; Brother Dirk Miller of Adrian. Uncle Louis and Aunt Edna Lee Stam and several cousins. And very special and dear friend Tinley Vickers. He was preceded in death by his parents and several aunts and uncles.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all those that were there for Dad from taking him to his appointments, visits in the hospital, or just checking in on him.   As quoted in his yearbook “Quiet and shy, a wonderful guy”

Please join us for A celebration of Dan’s life at Adrian Community Church, Saturday August 10th, 11:00 am. Luncheon to follow.

Lienkaemper Funeral Chapel-Ontario

For over 100 years, the Lienkaemper Funeral Chapel has served the Ontario, Oregon, community with professional, compassionate care. Our story begins in 1907 when the Peterson family, who owned a furniture store in Ontario, helped with funeral arrangements and sold caskets from the store’s basement. Over the years, the business has grown and had a number of owners, partnerships and names. Among them was our current namesake, the Lienkaemper family, who purchased the family funeral home with the mission of helping families in the Ontario community.
