Daniel Joseph Mitchell
June 15th - March 12th
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Daniel Joseph Mitchell, who departed this world on March 12th, 2024, at the age of 40, in Westminster, Colorado. Daniel received the hospital’s highest honor, the “Honor Walk”, for being an organ donor.
Daniel was born on June 15th, 1983, in Vancouver, Washington, and spent the majority of his life in Colorado. He discovered his passion for electrical work while earning his GED from Collbran Job Corps in 2005. A dedicated learner and student of life, he found joy in understanding the intricacies of mechanical objects and spent his free time tinkering with his vehicles.
In 2012, Daniel embraced his proudest role as a father to Eli Joseph Mitchell. Eli was his shining miracle, and Daniel poured his heart and soul into being the best father he could be.
Daniel's love extended beyond his immediate family to his cherished friends and relatives. Known for his unwavering loyalty, he was always there for those he held dear, offering support, and engaging in heartfelt conversations about life's journey.
Daniel is preceded in death by his son, Eli. He is survived by his mother, Toni, stepfather Bill, sister Shauna (married to Jon), and several aunts and cousins. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
A memorial service to celebrate Daniel's life will be held at Aspen Mortuary, located at 6370 Union Street, on Thursday, March 21st, 2024, at 11:00 am, followed by a reception. Details of the reception will be shared during the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests a charitable donation in Daniel's honor.
The family extends special gratitude to the compassionate staff at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lafayette, the Donor Alliance Foundation, and all loved ones who provided support, whether in person or virtually, during this difficult time.
Daniel, your spirit will forever be cherished, and your memory will continue to inspire us all.
Those we love don’t go away; they will walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near. Still loved, still missed, and so very dear.”
