“If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however, measured or far away.” – Henry David Thoreau Daniel Pasqua passed away peacefully on February 10, 2018, at the age of 66 following a long illness. He was born in Wyoming and raised in South Jersey where he excelled in athletics. Dan studied the teachings of Sri Kripalvanandji (Bapuji) and trained under Shanti Desai for many years where he became very proficient with his own yoga practice. He was a landscaper and poet by profession. He spent over 30 years in Massachusetts with his wife, Alison. Inspired by the writings and music of Bob Dylan, Patti Smith, Tom Waits, Henry David Thoreau and Walt Whitman, Dan enjoyed writing poetry with 2 books published. Dan had the ability to warmly touch everyone he met and through his poetry was able to see beyond the ordinary with a mystic view of life. He enjoyed meditation, yoga, gardening, music, studying spirituality, and walking in nature … Walden Pond is one of his favorite places to go and hang out. https://www.walden.org/ He is survived by his wife, Alison and her son Rob Lawrence, father, Frank Pasqua and wife Virginia, his sisters, Terry Pasqua and Kathryn Cooper, brothers-in-law, Conrad Geyser, Eric Geyser, Paul Bodor, David Cooper, nephews Sean Frederickson, Nial Frederickson and wife Alissa Chisholm. A celebration of Dan’s life will be planned at a future date where Dan’s ashes will be taken to Plum Island in Massachusetts, a special place where he and Alison spent many loving times together. The Monarch Revisited (for Alison) you are like the yellow, orange monarch butterfly landing on the daisy of my life we mingle and touch the pollen to each other then fly to the next life and do it again until we get it right we keep coming back until we get it right If Trowel was a Vowel (to honor Walt Whitman) If trowel was a vowel please bury my ashes in the holy New England soil In mid-autumn with the divine crocus bulbs I will lay dormant thru out the harsh winter. When the snows begin to melt in early March, I will be reborn as a gay flower peeking my head towards the late winter sun offering hope to the young poets Love is the only thing -Daniel Pasqua “May God bless and keep you always, May your wishes all come true, May you always do for others And let others do for you. May you build a ladder to the stars And climb on every rung, May you stay forever young,” ― Bob Dylan
