Daniel Karl Ulsund

Dan Ulsund, 75, of Lake Tapps Washington, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2023, surrounded by his family. Dan was born on October 4, 1947, to C. John and Maud Ulsund in Seattle, Washington. After graduating from Mountlake Terrace High School in 1965, he attended Shoreline Community College. In 1975 Dan met Barb Gibson in Cripple Creek, Colorado and they were married in 1977. They had three beautiful children Laura, Bill, and Eric. Dan enjoyed a variety of work experienced during his life. He referred to himself as a jack of all trades, master of none. While in the Air Force Reserve, he worked in the water quality lab for the Metro Sewer Department, then at JCPenney, the Cripple Creek Inn as a bartender, for several construction companies, at Todd shipyard and finally at Boeing as a Machinist and Pattern Maker. After leaving Boeing, Dan kept busy with a handyman repair business and as a real estate photographer. Dan loved his family, the SeaHawks, old cars, music and golf. If he couldn’t be playing golf he was watching it on TV. Dan enjoyed boating on Lake Tapps and beach life at his Long Beach, WA cabin. He was fun loving and had a quick sense of humor. Dan was a storyteller and often told stories about his life adventures. He could always be counted on as a good friend who would help anyone at any time. Dan is survived by his wife, Barb Ulsund, children Laura Eklund (Matt), Bill Ulsund (Amanda), and Eric Ulsund, seven grandchildren, brother Jerry Ulsund (Sandi), and nephew (Todd) and niece (Kristin). Dan was predeceased by his parents, C. John and Maud Ulsund, and his brother Jack Ulsund A celebration of Life will be held at High Cedars Golf Club on March 25, 2023, from 1 to 4pm.
