Daniel Thomas Waltz

Daniel Thomas Waltz, a Vietnam veteran, passed away on May 8, 2018 in Loveland, CO at the age of 69. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Ernestine Waltz of Sun City, AZ and two brothers, Paul Waltz, Jr. of Fox Lake, IL and John Waltz of El Cajon, CA, his estranged wife, Nancy and is survived by a sister, Elizabeth Olson of Sun City, AZ. Dan was born in Tucson, AZ on August 22, 1948 and grew up in San Mateo, CA. He later attended Cortez High School in Phoenix, AZ and graduated in 1966 before enlisting in the Navy. After his honorable discharge, Dan lived in Tempe, AZ where he graduated from ASU with a BA in Social Services. He moved to Fraser, Colorado in 1973 and opened a music store there. After marrying in 1976 he moved to Whitefish, MT with his wife Nancy. He later lived in Boulder before settling in Denver and retired from the Denver Regional Transportation District, after which he moved to Tucson for a year before eventually making his home in Loveland, CO. Dan had a lifelong passion for Major League Baseball and followed the San Francisco Giants and Colorado Rockies. Dan’s dry sense of humor and compassionate nature will be missed by the many friends he made in his life. A memorial is being planned to be held in Arizona at a later date. Services at a later date
