Daniel Kenneth Woster
July 4th, 1947 - February 19th, 2013
Daniel K. Woster was born on July 4, 1947 in Portland, Oregon and passed away on February 19, 2013 in King City, Oregon. When Dan was a small child the family moved from Vancouver, Washington to Klamath Falls, Oregon where he attended school from the first grade. He graduated from Klamath Union High School in 1965 and followed by studying physical education at Oregon State University. He was a follower of OSU sports for the rest of his life. After college Dan went to work managing a health club in Salem, Oregon. That experience led to a career in management and sales at various health clubs for thirty years. After Salem Dan married an OSU coed and worked in San Mateo, California. The marriage lasted only six years after which Dan enjoyed a few years working in Spokane, Washington where he bought his first house and was quite proud of the tomatoes he grew in the back yard. Then he was back to California where he spent several years in the San Jose area. He was an avid sports fan and while in San Jose he loved watching and rooting for the San Francisco 49ers pro football team. He loved baseball also and followed several professional and college teams. When Dan relocated to the Seattle area in recent years he added allegiance to the Seahawks football team and the Mariners baseball team. Dan bought a house in Renton, Washington and was a proud homeowner sharing his life with his faithful golden retriever, Moose, and his cat, Spunky. Visitors to Dan's house could be amazed by bird condominiums in his back yard. Bird house after bird house was supported above the back yard fence and attracted a myriad of our feathered friends. Dan also loved the movies and maintained a large collection of recorded movies, first on tape and then switching to DVDs. Dan's last place of employment was Hayek's Leather Furniture in Tukwila, Washington where the staff was concerned and supportive when Dan's health began to fail. Dan is survived by brothers, Tim, Dave, and Duane; sisters, Gloria and Patricia; and a number of nieces, nephews and grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
