Daniel Thomas Wright

Daniel “Dan” Thomas Wright 72. passed away on May 10,2021 in his home in Aurora, Colorado. Dan was born April 25,1949 in La Mesa, California to Al and Rosie Wright. He had one sister Pamela. He served his country in the United States Navy and was a Vietnam veteran. He retired after 20 years working for the government as an IRS accountant. He loved cross country bike riding and being in the outdoors. The Ride the Rockies event in Colorado was his favorite. Dan was an amazing carpenter and stained glass and jewelry maker. In 2004 he met a new friend Darleen Sanchez at a IHOP restaurant in Aurora, Colorado. They learned that they were both born in the same hospital in California 30 years apart. Soon after they met, Darleen and her family adopted Dan as a new family member and the friendship relationship turned into a family relationship for the next 17 years. Dan considered Darleen as the best buddy he ever had and the best thing that ever happened in his life. His most special times were gambling trips to Black Hawk with Darleen and family vacations with the Sanchez family. He is preceded in death by his dad, mom and stater. Dan will be missed so much by his adoptive family members Frankie Sanchez Sr., Darleen Sanchez, Hunter-Geist-Sanchez, Frankie Sanchez Jr., Arianna Sanchez, Milo the Cat, Mila the Dog, Eddie Sanchez Sr. Jeone Sanchez, Eddie Sanchez Jr., Amelia Sanchez, Jasmine Sanchez, Adrian Sanchez. Dan’s wishes were to be cremated and have his ashes spread on his parents gravesite in San Diego, California. A small private service will be held at the gravesite in California in the summer.
