Darin Lavern Gardner
April 5th, 1965 - August 28th, 2012
Darin Lavern Gardner, 47 years old passed away peacefully in his home in Thornton, Colorado on August 28, 2012. He was born April 5, 1965 at St. Anthony Central Hospital in Denver, Colorado. He lived in Arvada, CO growing up and graduated from Arvada West High School. He worked at the Arvada Elks Lodge #2278 as a waiter and then worked in the kitchen as a cook when he was 14 & 15 years old. He worked at the Black Angus Restaurant. also as a cook. He watched the food channels on TV all his life and loved to cook. Darin went to Warren Tech to learn Auto Body Work and later bought his own shop called Angel Auto Body. Darin was a perfectionist in everything he did. No car left the shop if his worker left a run in the paint on a car. Darin would repaint it himself. He married in 1988 and had a daughter Brittany born June 17, 1992. He moved to Las Vegas, Nevada and lived there a couple years. When he moved back to Colorado he went to school to become an electrician. Darin was an artist and was always drawing pictures for his daughter. He loved to go to Stanley Lake and camping with his mom and dad and was a great slalom water skier. Darin bought a home in Thornton, CO in the year 2000. He lived there until his death. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Cecil and Luella Rhoads and grandfather Calvin Gardner. Darin is survived by his daughter Brittany, parents Myron & Carol Gardner, sister Diann Hilliard, nephews Jared & Jesse Hilliard. Uncle Gary Rhoads, aunts Pauline Brandt, LaVeta Reynolds and LeAnna Goff, uncles Delvin Gardner and Lauren Gardner. He is also survived by his grandmother Edna Gardner, age 99.
