Darlene Joan Bennett
March 15th, 1940 - April 20th, 2015
Darlene Bennett passed away April 20, 2015. She was 75. Darlene was born March 15, 1940, in Lusk, Wyo. to Chet and Eva Brown. Darlene met and married Johnnie O. Bennett, and they were married for 57 and one-half years. She was on bowling leagues in Oregon City and Molalla. She enjoyed golfing with her husband, John. She also liked going to musicals and concerts in Portland. Her favorite was “Mama Mia.” She was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Church of the Nazarene. Darlene was also a volunteer at the Molalla Senior Center. She enjoyed taking her grandchildren to ice skating events and to the movies. A yearly event at “Grandma’s House” was making Christmas cookies, which was a treasured event by all her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, John; daughter, Mona Oviatt; sons, Johnnie O. Bennett, Jr. (Nancy) and Scott Bennett; brothers, Chet (Theresa), Wayne (Glenda), Bob, and Chris Richter (Wanda); grandchildren, Amanda (Chris), Melissa (Jason), Desiree, Anthony, Shelby, Macaela, Destiny and Jasmine; great-grandchildren Natalie, Audrey, Lucy, Olivia, Sophie and Henry. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at the Molalla Church of the Nazarene. Arrangements entrusted to Molalla Funeral Chapel.
