Darlene Hlavinka

Darlene Hlavinka Darlene Mae Hlavinka, 71, of Eugene, Oregon passed away on April 8, 2015 at Riverbend Hospital in Springfield, Oregon from A combination of emphysema and lung cancer. Darlene was born in McLaughlin, South Dakota on May 30, 1943 to Vera and Gustave Adam. She graduated from McLaughlin High School in 1961 and married her future husband, Ray Hlavinka, in October of 1962. In December 1969, they migrated west to Harrisburg, Oregon where they lived until October 2004. After Ray’s passing in December 2004, Darlene relocated to her present home at Lakewood Park in Eugene, Oregon. Darlene worked as a homemaker and enjoyed participating in the local Bingo and Casino circuit. She always enjoyed visits from family and friends. She is survived by her significant other, Lewis Hookland; 3 sons Kalin of Junction City, Oregon; Troy of Salem, Oregon; and Darin and his wife, Lisa, of Boise, Idaho; brother Mark Adam of Surprise, AZ: a sister, Yvonne Kraft of Iowa; 5 Grandchildren; and 4 Great Grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 42 years Ray in 2004;a brother, Robert Adam and her parents. A memorial service gathering will be held at Lakewood Park Clubhouse at 1800 Lakewood Court, Eugene, Oregon on April 25, 2015 at 2:00pm.
