Darlene "Dolly" McIntyre lost her brief but courageous battle with cancer on Sunday November 10, 2013 at Wesley Long Hospital. She was surrounded by family and loved ones. A memorial service will be held 7:00 p.m. Friday November 15, 2013 at Lambeth- Troxler Funeral Chapel with Pastor Ken Chester officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 Friday evening prior to the service. Dolly was born January 8, 1951 in Erwin N.C. to Fannie Jo Booker King, of the home, and the late William H. King Sr. She was married to William Bryant McIntyre. She grew up in Greensboro and was a graduate of Page High School. She spent most of her years as a home maker to her husband and daughters. Then a care giver for her grand daughters and her ageing parents. It was what Dolly did. She took care of those she loved. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her brother William H. King Jr. She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years Bryant McIntyre; daughters Kay Murphy and husband Matt; Dawn McIntyre and fiancé Wayne Johns; granddaughters Jasmine Fiorine, MaryBlake Murphy, and Nadia Fiorine; sister in law Deborah King; brother Randy King and wife Sheri, her very special "sister" cousin Beverly Cilley; also numerous nieces, nephews, brothers in law and sisters in law and cousins. The family would like to thank the Moses Cone Cancer Center and their doctors and staff who attended our beloved wife, mother and "Aunt Dolly" during her journey. Also a special thanks to Ken Chester for his support to the family in their time of need. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Sojourn Community Church, 4016-H Battleground Ave. PMB #300, Greensboro, N.C. 27410.
