Darnell Richardson, Sr.

Mr. Darnell "Red" Richardson, 67 of Charlotte, North Carolina slipped quietly away at his home on Friday, October 25, 2019 unexpectedly to all. He was born in Pageland, South Carolina on January 18, 1952 to the late Katie Horton Richardson and the late James P. Richardson. Red, as he was affectionately known by many was educated in the public schools of Charlotte, NC and attended West Charlotte High School. For many years Red was a truck driver and remained one until his retirement from Mecklenburg Lumber Company. He loved life and he lived it to the fullest. Everyone enjoyed the times they were around him and he, too, enjoyed people, never meeting a stranger. Darnell "Red" Richardson is survived by his wife, Belinda Richardson of Charlotte, NC, one daughter, Alicia Richardson of Charlotte, NC; three sons, Darnell Richardson (Courtney), Rico Richardson and Marcus Richardson all of Charlotte, NC, one brother, James Richardson (Hattie) of Charlotte, NC and aunts Bernice R. Horton, Parthenia R. Tarber, Elaine R. Ewing and Lucy Horton all of Charlotte, NC; one uncle, Reese Horton of Waxhaw, NC, three grandchildren, Alana Phillips, Makai Seigle, Kelgie Richardson, Bryson Roller and one great granddaughter, Lyndon Richardson Seigle as well as his Special Friend and former wife, Deborah Salley of Charlotte, NC, Special Friends in the Twin Lakes Community of Fort Mill, SC and a host of nieces and nephews. Darnel "Red" Richardson was preceded in death by his parents, mother- Katie H. Richardson and father- James P.
