Darrell Lee Langrel

Kingsport - Darrell Lee Langrel, 42 of Kingsport, passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at his home. He was born on January 9, 1975 in Kingsport to Teresa Langrel. He attended Dobyns-Bennett High School and continued his education at Northeast State Community College. Darrell truly loved the outdoors, spending as much time as he could camping and fishing. He was an amazing brother, son, uncle and friend, touching the lives of everyone he met. He was loved dearly and will be terribly missed. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Robert and Mae Smallwood; his uncle, Donald Smallwood and his cousin, Natoka Smallwood. Darrell is survived by his mother, Teresa Langrel; brother, Michael Langrel; grandmother, Pauline Litton; niece, Madisyn Langrel; sister, Erin Smith; aunt, Elleweis Smallwood; many close friends and family. The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport. A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Harland McDavid officiating. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 9, 2017 at Vineyard Family Cemetery in Hiltons, VA. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:55 p.m. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport is serving the Langrel family.
