Dave McKenna
November 5th, 2019
Dave McKenna, age 63, passed away from natural causes on Tuesday November 5, 2019. He was born in Concord, New Hampshire to Jack and Peggy McKenna and graduated from Bishop Brady High School. He married the love of his life, Mini McKenna, and left his home state for a 27-year career in the United States Army. While serving his country, he attended Command and General Staff College and was a resident of the U.S. Army War College. He was awarded multiple citations, including the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Combat Action Badge, and the Meritorious Service Medal (4th Award). He retired from the United States Army at the rank of Colonel in 2006 at Ft. Lewis, and established residency in Lacey, Washington. He loved playing ice hockey, boasting about his family, watching his grandkids grow, and coaching 10U hockey. Dave is survived by his wife, Mini McKenna of Lacey, Washington; and three very adult children, Kara Perez (husband, Jeff) of Washington, Jack McKenna (wife, Kristin) of Virginia, and Kaci Fleetwood (husband, Jarrod) of Nevada. Dave was a proud grandfather of six very loveable grandchildren, Caleb, Brenden, Gabriel, Brooke, Cole, and Gavin. If desired, friends may make memorial contributions to the non-profit PS Ice Sports Youth Association. A private ceremony for family will be held at the Ft. Lewis Cemetery.
