David Scott Arnold

David Scott Arnold, Age: 54, of Summerville, South Carolina (formerly of Warwick, Rhode Island), passed away on January 30, 2019 after a short illness. Dave graduated from South Kingstown High School in 1982. He received his Fire Science Associate Degree from the Community College of Rhode Island in 1994 and his Bachelor of Science in Fire Science from Providence College in 2011. Dave also received the prestigious certificate for Executive Fire Officer from the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, MD in 2017. Dave began his remarkable career as a volunteer firefighter with the Tower Hill Fire Department. He then joined the Narragansett Fire Department in 1990 and retired at the rank of Captain/Fire Marshal in September 2018. Dave is survived by his wife, Tracey, with whom he had very recently moved to South Carolina to begin a new chapter of their life. He is also survived by his father, George, and was the son of the late Evelyn Arnold. Dave leaves behind his son, David, Jr., as well as his two stepsons, Nicholas and Nathan Hoyer. Dave is also survived by his brother Doug; sister-in-law, Sandy; Niece, Lauren; and nephew, Douglas. A celebration of Dave’s life will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at the Church of the Ascension, 370 Main Street, Wakefield, Rhode Island.
