David M. Best
December 23rd, 1943 - September 22nd, 2018
Of Hartford, WI, passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at the age of 74 after fighting a long 55 day battle being paralyzed and on a ventilator. He decided to remove the ventilator himself and go be with the Lord our God. David had his wife of 53 years and only child Angela by his side. He was born on December 23, 1943, the son of Charles and Louise (Loechler) Best. David will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Judith and daughter, Angela; grandchildren, Cody Austin Stelzel and Logan John David Reinke; siblings, John (Ann) Best, Mary Best, Michael (Tesse) Best, Eugene (Susan) Best, Elizabeth (Irv) Wargolet, Judith (Mike) Hazard, Martha (Michael) Wilcoxson, Patricia (Kelly) Gibson; and 21 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Joseph and Edward; sister-in-law, Theresa Best; and mother-in-law, Viola Anagnoustopoulos. David received his masters and bachelors in business and worked at Harley Davidson for 37 years. He retired from Harley and worked at Jackson Hewitt, Riteway Bus Company, and H&R Block. David served in the Army Reserves for over five years before being honorably discharge in 1970. He lived life to the fullest. David liked playing bingo at Potawatomi and loved the sounds of Harleys. We all love you, David, very much. Always and forever. The visitation for David will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:45 a.m. funeral service at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd. Waukesha, WI 53188. Burial will immediately follow at Highland Memorial Park. The family asks that anyone with a Harley and would like to join in the procession to send him off with the sound he was used to hearing every day to please meet at the funeral home at 12:30p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the National Spinal Cord Injury Association – S.E. Wisconsin Chapter, 540 S 1st St, Milwaukee, WI 53204.
