David Paul Chaffin, 67, went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 25, 2022. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully request that donations be made to Pine Pointe Hospice, https://navicenthealth.org/donate. David was born on June 13, 1955 in Delaware, OH to the late Dorothy and William Chaffin. In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by his brother, Alan Chaffin. David was a loving husband, brother, step father, uncle, and great friend that will be deeply missed. David was a proud and honorable veteran who served his country in the United States Army. After the military, David continued his education at the University of Arkansas and obtained his bachelor's degree in History. David relished in visiting Civil War Battle Fields with his beloved wife and learning the history behind each Fort. Before obtaining his Pilot license, David could be found on the back of his Harley Davidson Motorcycle listening to Bruce Springsteen. David was fascinated by the world of Aviation. He took great pride in assembling model airplanes and kept up to date with the latest aircrafts. David also enjoyed taking care of his family, including his beloved dog, Tucker. He loved being able to have a family meal and desserts ready for when they came to visit. David is survived by his loving wife, Susan Chaffin; sisters, Nancy (Michael) Hunter and Cheryl (Derrick) Bruns; nephew, Cee Jay Bruns; niece, Samantha (Rocky) Derby; step children, Kenneth Nadel, Sarah (Ashley) Hawthorne, and Jennifer Campbell, and a host of extended friends and family.
