December 18th, 1979 - May 15th, 2023
David L. Crandell, age 45, of Amsterdam, NY, passed away tragically in a house fire on Monday May 15, 2023 in the evening. He was born in Syracuse, NY, the son of David J. and Emma (Pallien) Crandell. Dave was a graduate of Fonda-Fultonville High School, and spent many years working hard with his family, and becoming well known in his local and online gaming community. Throughout his life, Dave enjoyed playing video games, fishing, cooking, and taking any chance to have a new adventure or talk with his nephew Dylan. He cherished his pets, and best friend Rich Sheppie, who were always by his side. His late older brother Jay was a big influence on Dave’s life, and helped him to become the wonderful man that he was. Dave leaves behind his loving family and friends, including his sister, Beth Lyman; nephews, Dylan Crandell and Jay Crandell Jr.; nieces, Alexeia Crandell, Faith Crandell, Sierra Thomas, and Julianna Crandell; great-niece, Olivia Crandell; as well as many other nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held privately, at the convenience of Dave’s family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Go Fund Me established in Dave’s memory, organized by Sierra Thomas.
