DAVID CRICHTON David John Crichton was born on July 6, 1938 in Peoria, IL and passed away September 27, 2013 at his daughter’s home in Tacoma, WA. He is survived by his loving daughters, Gail (Andy) Zaffino, Geri (Antonio) Rendina and Deanne (Al) Crichton-Achord; 9 grandchildren, Nina Aguillon, Jennifer (Greg) Ramirez, Jason Evans, Heidi (Ian) Shattuck, Nicholle (Sean) Campbell, Scott Aguillon, Stephanie Rendina, Rachel Rendina and Becca Rendina; one great grandson, Hunter Shattuck; brother, Alan (Linda) Crichton; mother of his daughters, Patricia Fogle and numerous extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Gabriel and Violet Crichton; grandson, David and his beloved canine companion, Bear. David’s parents moved to Washington State when he was ten years old. Following graduation from Queen Anne High School in 1956, he began working at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in the apprenticeship program. In 1963 he and his family spent a year in Panama while he worked at the Panama Canal. Upon returning they moved to Tacoma. He retired from the shipyard in 1984. David was an avid bowler until his physical limitations no longer allowed him to participate. He enjoyed the outdoors and family vacations were spent camping at state parks along the Pacific coastline. He spent the past 8 years living with his daughter, Geri, and was blessed to enjoy the day to day activities of his granddaughters. David was a member of the Eagles and Elks. An open house will be held to celebrate David’s life on November 2nd, 1 – 3 pm at 6110 North 15th St, Tacoma, WA 98406. Please parking on street only.
