David Dedrick
June 22nd, 1954 - June 11th, 2011
David “Davo” Dedrick passed away on June 11, 2011 at the age of 56. Davo was born to Joseph and Madeleine Dedrick in Missouri and moved to Cocoa Beach as a child. Growing up in Cocoa Beach, Davo learned to surf, and his love for the sport inspired him to eventually make a career manufacturing surfboards. Davo was very skilled in his craft, and is considered a pioneer to modern techniques in surfboard manufacturing. Most recently Davo spent time volunteering for the Surfrider Foundation, and has served as an Esteemed Loyal Knight with the Cocoa Beach Elks Lodge. Davo is survived by his sons, Jeffory and Michael; daughter, Rose; step-daughter, Kelly; and 5 grandchildren. Although he was an only child, Davo also leaves behind many close friends whom he “treated as a brother”. A beach service and paddle-out will be held at a date to be later determined. Davo was very proud of his charity work, so in lieu of flowers please consider making a charitable donation to the local Surfrider Foundation.
