Belchertown-David G. Dupont, 76, passed away at home on December 24, 2020 with the love of his family surrounding him. Born January 29, 1944 in Springfield, he was the son of Rene and Laurette (LaCoste) Dupont. David grew up in Willimansett, MA and has lived in Belchertown for the past 33 years. As a young man, David had been trained as an electrician, and became a setup man at Easco (Moore Drop Forge) for 29 years. He returned to school taking business courses and became a valued salesman at JCPenney Furniture store in Holyoke for ten years. Customers at the store appreciated working with David and he achieved many sales awards during his time at JCPenney. David proudly served his country in the US Army Reserve for eight years. In his leisure, he enjoyed woodworking, fishing, music, camping, watching the Boston Red Sox, and spending time with his family. He was a very active member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church parish in Longmeadow, MA for many years. David's memory will be forever cherished by his wife of 42 years, Joyce (Diver) Dupont, along with their children, Jeffrey Dupont of Belchertown, Joanne Wall and her husband Ryan of Spencer, and Ryan Dupont of Belchertown. He is also survived by three older children; Michael Dupont, Janet Gillian, and Lisa Haynes as well as his siblings; Patricia Mitchell of Chicopee, MA and Donald Dupont of Lafayette, CA. David also leaves behind nine grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many members of his extended family. Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. A future service will be held at the convenience of the family. For those wishing, donations may be made in his memory to the Michael J. Fox Foundation or the American Parkinson’s Disease Association of Massachusetts.
