David Scott Eby

David Eby was born in Portland, Oregon to Donald and Kathryn Eby and lived in NE Portland with his parents and brother, Ronald Alsop. They moved to Canby, OR in 1957, where he grew up with his love of horses, cars and everything “Country”. In 1965 he married Elayne Lundsten and they had two girls, Paula and Carla. David got his real estate license and began his journey selling homes and later got his Brokers license. He and Elayne were married for 19 years. In 1983 David married Marilyn Woodruff and they had their daughter Cassie who joined their family with daughters, Holly and Gayle. David continued in real estate, going into appraising as well as selling homes and property. In the last few years of his life, he started a custom horse and utility trailer restoring business, completely refurbishing trailers that were in high demand. He was very detail oriented and very proud of the finished product that was produced. He was in the process of making this his full-time occupation as he really enjoyed it. David was never into sports or hunting. Instead he loved nature, animals and the countryside he lived in. He was a huge car buff, starting with muscle cars and ending with Cadillacs being his very favorite. He drove and collected many vintage and newer Cadillacs, and took advantage of the sunny days driving his pride and joy, a 70’s white Eldorado Biarritz convertible. David worked hard all of his life and took pride in anything he did, whether it was his real estate business, trailer business or just “wheeling and dealing” cars and what’not. He will be greatly missed by many. David was survived by his 100 year old father, Donald Eby, brother, Ronald Alsop, first wife; Elayne, wife; Marilyn, daughters: Paula, Carla, Cassie, Laura, Holly, and Gayle. Grandchildren; Zack, Josh, Ashley, Jeromi (who preceded him in death in 2013), Emily, Nicole, Paetra, Alex, Haley and Miles. Funeral Services will be at Canby Alliance Church, 900 N. Juniper, Friday, May 2 at 1PM. Procession to graveside followed by a potluck at the Eby residence. All are welcome.
