David Glen Farmer
December 15th, 1957 - July 10th, 2018
David 'Dave' Glen Farmer of Middleton, Idaho was reunited with his Heavenly Father on July 10, 2018. Dave was born December 15, 1957 in Caldwell, Idaho to Ronald and Catherine Tarp Farmer in Caldwell, Idaho. Dave attended schools in Boise, Middleton, Caldwell, and Payette. He joined the US Army and graduated from High School in 1976 while stationed at Lawton, Oklahoma. Dave served at the DMZ in Korea for two tours, and then returned to Idaho, serving in the Air National Guard and National Guard until 1997. He remained in the Retired Reserves until 2017, and is honored as one of Idaho's first Soldiers for Life. Dave is survived by his loving wife Arla of Middleton, mother Catherine Castillo, sister Lisa, aunts Phyllis, Patsy and Mary, stepchildren Heather (Mark) Bennett, Brandi (Jeremy) Fielding, and Brian (Beth) Twilegar, seven grandchildren, and several cousins. Dave was a convert to the LDS Church; his testimony of God's Plan of salvation and our Savior's Atonement never wavered in spite of his struggles with depression and poor physical health. Dave loved fishing, hunting, camping and spending time outdoors with Arla. Dave is preceded in death by his father Ron, grandparents, brother Jeff, stepfather Sam Castillo and cousins Michael and Tracy. Dave had a gentle and tender heart; he loved animals, and will be greatly missed by many whose lives he touched. You are safe now, David, and you are loved by so many. Memorial Services will be held Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 1:00pm at the LDS Willis Building in Middleton, Idaho. Interment will take place at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery at 11:00am in Boise, Idaho.
