"David A. Heroux, 57, of Breckenridge St., died Friday at Wing Memorial Hospital. Born in Three Rivers, MI, February 11, 1949, he grew up in Indiana. He later lived in Springfield, MA for 14 years before moving to Palmer 11 years ago. He had worked for the Springfield Department of Public Works for many years. David proudly served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War and was honored with the Purple Heart Medal while serving in critical battles in the Republic of Vietnam. He was a member of the American Legion Post 130 in Palmer and will be remembered in many ways by the many friends and family who knew him. David will be deeply missed by his wife of 23 years, Charlotte (Pyle), three daughters Satin Hogart of Indiana, Charlene Heroux of Springfield, MA and Charisse “Nikki” Heroux at home. He also leaves a grandson, Tristan Hogart of Indiana. A Celebration of Life Service will be Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. in the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home, 1475 N. Main St., followed by military honors at 1:00 p.m. at the Massachusetts Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Agawam. Calling hours will be Tuesday, August 15 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice. "
