David Allen Hull passed away on May 23rd, 2020 on his 66th birthday surrounded by his wife and two kids. He fought hard against a rare and aggressive infection that attacked his heart and ultimately overstressed his body. He was born in Salt Lake City, UT on May 23rd, 1954 to Joanne Guthrie and Albert ‘Corky’ Hull. He was the oldest of five siblings. He moved to Yakima, WA, attended Caroll High School and worked hard to attain his Eagle Scout rank. He went on to graduate from Seattle University with a degree in Nuclear Medicine. While developing his skills in echocardiography at Virginia Mason Hospital, he met his wife Theresa. David was Theresa’s rock and adventure buddy. The couple moved to Anchorage and married in 1981 before ultimately returning to WA and buying a home in Mukilteo that they would share for over 33 years while raising their two children. David lived for his kids, taking them on many adventures, attending practices and making sure they had what they needed; even if that thing was a new dog smuggled in while he was away on business. He established a strong work ethic in his children and supported all of their endeavors. He was his kids’ number one fan. Everyone in the family knows how much David loved to document family gatherings and will remember him, his camera, and waiting ever so patiently while he got the shot he wanted. David’s career at Philips Medical spanned nearly 30 years specializing as a clinical specialist, working on the development and training of cardiac ultrasound products for Philips. David had a real passion and love for the business but most of all, he was a great colleague and friend. He enjoyed working closely with development engineers refining technical features and he loved to meet up with colleagues when he would travel to other Philips sites and hospitals around the world. He also was very involved in developing and delivering training to those within Philips. He had a very positive and upbeat approach to all his work and was always willing to help others and share his extensive knowledge with them. He was a very loved and valuable member of the cardiology team and he will be missed. David had many passions in his life but the utmost besides his family was being an umpire. He committed 20 years to the Mukilteo Little League as a volunteer umpire and had recently taken the reins as the Umpire in Charge. Umpiring can be a thankless job but he loved it nonetheless. Not that he could show it, but he loved the classic umpire “YOOUU’RREEE OUTTT!” David was taken suddenly and too soon. He is survived by his wife, Theresa, son and daughter-in-law, Brandon and Colette, daughter and her fiancé, Danielle and Will, mother and step-father Joanne and Jim, siblings Brian (Bobbie), Marianne, Jerry (Gay), and Linda. He is preceded in death by his father Albert ‘Corky’. He will be remembered as a supporting and loving son, brother, husband and father. His family will continue to carry and pass along his memory to their future generations. His family is overwhelmed and touched by the outreach of love and condolences for David. It is evident he will be missed by many and never forgotten.
