David "Dave" G. Johnson
July 14th, 1952 - September 3rd, 2020
David G. Johnson 68, of Tully passed away at home on Thursday. David battled a long illness of Primary Progressive Aphasia. He was the son of the late Wayne and Sara Johnson of Onondaga Hill. David was a graduate of C.B.A. and attended LeMoyne College. He was a former Deputy Chief of the Syracuse Fire Dept. and served on the department for 35 years. He loved his job and all the people he worked with. David felt privileged to be part of the department. David served on the board of New Hope Family Services for 35 years believing that all life is precious. He had a heart for children and was compelled to help mothers make good choices and supply material needs for their babies. He was predeceased by his son Joel in 1991. David is survived by: his wife of 48 years Diana (Roberts), 7 sons; Timothy, Andrew, Daniel, Mark, Benjamin, Samuel and David Johnson, 10 daughters; Beverly (Joseph) Adams, Rebecca (Jon) Rogers, Sarah Johnson, Elizabeth (Thomas) Banister, Rachel (Casey) Keller, Alysia, Hannah, Michaela, Grace Johnson and Natasha Trammell, 17 grandchildren, sister; Mary Ellen Johnson, brothers; Donald, Paul, Michael, Daniel, Mark, Peter and Steven; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling hours will be held from 9AM to 11AM Wednesday, September 9th at LaFayette Alliance Church with a funeral service following at 11AM. Burial will in Vesper Cemetery.
