Kelly, Sr., David B., 82, of Tampa, Florida passed away January 23, 2015. He was born February 22, 1932 in Bartow, Florida. David was a United States Army Veteran and served in the Korean War. Throughout his career as a union pipefitter, David traveled all of the country working on many industrial projects including nuclear power plants. He had a strong work ethic and was greatly admired by his peers. David had a very charismatic personality and made a lasting impression on everyone he met. He loved a good joke and had a one-of-a-kind captivating laugh. He was a humble and generous man, always willing to help in any way he could. To say he was charming is an understatement. Boyette (Gary), David B. Kelly, Jr. (Traci) and Kacy A. Kelly; nine grandchildren, Steven Townsend, Danielle Townsend Santos, Neal Byrne III, Robert Byrne, Stephanie Boyette Langford, Jennifer Boyette Townsend, Evan Kelly, Lauren Kelly and Kacy Kelly, Jr.; twelve great grandchildren, Alexzandria Townsend, Jakob Townsend, Sarah Woo, Aaron Santos, Ava Byrne, Robert Byrne, Jr., Nathan Langford, Carsen Langford, Miles Langford, Skylar Townsend, Raegan Townsend and Rylan Townsend; two sisters, Vida Mae Hunt and Gloria Wilkerson; nieces and nephews; and many, many friends. David was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A special “thank you” to David’s nephew, Ralph “Ed” Hunt, for all the time and care he gave to David in his last days. A celebration of David’s life will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 1, 2015 at Tampa First Seventh-Day Adventist Church Community Center, 822 West Linebaugh Avenue, Tampa, FL 33612-7856.
