Flahiff Funeral Chapels & Crematory-Caldwell
David Paul Kershner
November 2nd, 1971 - February 7th, 2012
David Paul Kershner, born November 2, 1971 on Carswell Air Force Base in Fort Worth, Texas, died on February 7, 2012 in Nampa, Idaho due to an accidental drowning. From a young age David was very good at writing poems. He enjoyed reading about the mysteries here on earth and beyond. He loved the beauty of Barber Park in Boise and had a lot of fun floating the Boise River that runs through it. While he spent almost all of his teenage-adult life in Idaho (Caldwell, Boise and Sun Valley) he was always bery proud of being a Texan; a 6’4” Texan who had a rather unique and memorable sense of humor. David was an outstanding chef. Many people in the restaurants where he worked and many of his friends and members of his family enjoyed the fruits of that labor. David and his fiancée Amy were planning to get married this summer and open their own restaurant. Our prayers are specifically with Amy who we love as a daughter as well with Austen, Turah and Destiny, may they work hard to create for themselves the really good life David so hoped they would have. David is survived by his fiancée Amy Huffman; two best friends, Rick and Donna Coombs and his beloved dog Herman. His son Austen Wilkins and two girls who he loved as his own, Turah and Destiny. His parents, Donald and Sandra Kershner. His sisters, Deborah Sewell and Donna Miller. His brothers Donald, Dennis and Daniel Kershner. His aunts, Carol Pighin (Charlotte, North Carolina) and Sonia Martin and uncles Richard Knight and Jim Knights and many nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his grandparents, June and Herman Knight (Caldwell, Idaho), and Jeannette and Paul Kershner (San Lorenzo, California). A memorial service will be held at the Church of Christ (corner of Ustick and 10th Ave) in Caldwell on Sunday, February 19, 2012 at 2:00 PM. Condolences may be made online at www.flahifffuneralchapel.com. The photo is of David with his son Austen and 2 year old niece Rebeccah Silva in 1993. Service Information
