David Landkamer passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at the age of 54. Dave was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, to John and Mary Landkamer on May 27, 1961 and was baptized at St. James Lutheran Church. He attended Henry Sibley High School in Mendota Heights, Minnesota, graduating in 1979. After high school he worked at several jobs before joining his brother Joe in Greenland to work there as a janitor. Returning to the United States, Dave enlisted in the U.S. Navy on April 24, 1984. During his twenty year career, he served on the USS Capodanno, USS Lynde McCormick, USS Fox, USS Mahlon S. Tisdale, and USS Howard. He retired from active military duty on April 30, 2004. Dave met his wife, Marilyn, in the Philippines during his Pacific deployments. Marilyn and her daughter Michelle, age 2, came to the United States to join him, and he and Marilyn were married on November 18, 1992. Dave and his family, now with children Daniel and Maryann, lived in Hawaii and San Diego, and after his retirement moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. Here he worked as a security guard in the Paris Hotel for six years before retiring completely and being an at-home dad, caring for his family above himself. He made them laugh and loved them beyond words. Dave is survived by his beloved wife Marilyn; his deeply loved children, Michelle, Daniel, and Maryann; and his sister Laura. He was predeceased by his grandparents, parents, and his brother Joseph. Visitation and a funeral service will be held at Kraft Sussman Funeral Services, 3975 S. Durango Drive, Suite 104, Las Vegas, NV 89147 (702-485-6500) at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 28. The burial will take place at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV 89005 (702-486-5920) at noon on Tuesday, March 29.

Marilyn and Family - Our deepest sympathy for the loss of Dave. He was a great friend who made all of us laugh countless times. Although the miles separated us, I enjoyed the long telephone conversations we had. He will be greatly missed. During this very sad time, I take comfort in knowing two things. I will always be appreciative of Dave's friendship, and knowing he is in heaven with our Savior, Jesus Christ, who makes all things new. Eternal rest, grant unto him O Lord and let the perpetual light shine upon him. God Bless you all. - Cathy, Don, Lydia, Thomas, and Matthew Wagner

Dear Maria, I love you and have known you for 11 years. I remember your husband and I still cannot believe that he passed. I remember when I used to come over your house, he was very funny. I remember when we went to work and you came back home, you had a bruise on your hand because you worked very hard. Then the next day you told me he told you "Honey did someone beat you." That made me laugh and happy. Just be happy and strong because I understand your pain. I just lost my mother and father. My children send their love and prayers to you and your family. May God be with you.

What a great picture of you Uncle Dave! When I was little, I always thought how lucky Michelle was to have had a Father to walk into her life, that was a lot of fun, and that had an upbeat personality. I thank you for all of the laughs, facts and for opening up your home to my family and I when we needed a place to stay. Our family is truly blessed to have had you in our lives. Thank you and rest in heaven, with your parents, brother, God and John Lennon :) We all love you and will never forget our times with you.
