David John Mendoza II August 26, 1969 - March 1, 2024. David was born and baptized in Salinas, California. As a boy he lived in Key West, Florida, Augsburg, Germany, and Colorado Springs, Colorado before returning to Salinas to attend high school, and remained in the area ever since. David was a good man and a beautiful person. Family was very important to him, and he loved his family immensely. Therefore, David was loved right back by everyone; he will be immensely missed by all. He was intelligent and talented. He earned his living as an electrician and tradesman. His true passion was always art, he was a skillful artist, whether drawing, painting, or creating with his hands. His super creative mind produced inspired work. In recent years, David lived in Marina with his longtime girlfriend, Tina Moreno. He was very close to her daughters, Giovanna Moreno, Genevive Ulloa, and granddaughter Ivy Vega. David is survived by his mother Vera Evans of Colorado, step father Robert Evans of Florida sister Lisa Mendoza of Santa Clara, brother Alwyn Evans of Washington D.C., his wife Yanet Rodriguez, and their son Alwyn Rafael Evans. Sisters Katrina, Heaven and Paige of Salinas, CA; aunts Christina Chacon, Vicki St Claire, and Guadalupe Lucio. His beloved Grandmother Connie Mendoza of Salinas. Numerous uncles, cousins, and friends that David equally loved. Belen Castro the mother of three of David’s children, Fabian Mendoza, Myles Mendoza, and Emily Reyes. He loved them so very much and was also loved deeply by the entire Castro family who consider him a son and a brother. David has two grandchildren baby Myles and baby Evelinah Lorena Perales, mother of David’s fourth child, David Ethaniel Mendoza. The Perales family, who he loved very much and in return was loved deeply by the entire Perales family. They consider him both son and brother David was preceded in death by his father David John Mendoza Senior. David was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Guadalupe Lucio. We will miss David beyond measure, his beautiful smile, and easy-going ways he will be forever in our hearts! Visitation will be held at the Healey Mortuary, 405 N. Sanborn Rd., Salinas, Saturday, March 9, 2024 from 10 AM - 1 PM. Funeral Services wil be held at the Mortuary Chapel, Saturday at 1:00 PM Inurnment of his cremains will be held at the Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 18200 Damian Way, Salinas, Monday, March 11, 2024 at 2:00 PM.

Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
