Amsterdam, New York—David L. "Dave" Mintzer, 62, of Wilkes Avenue, passed at his home on Saturday, October 22, 2016, after a short illness. Born November 8, 1953 in Albany, New York, he was the son of the late Lester H. "Bud" and Betty Jane Edmonds Mintzer. He was raised in Ausable Forks, NY and he was a 1971 graduate of Plattsburgh High School. Dave attended Albany College of Pharmacy. He was employed as a Field Technician for AT&T in White Plains, NY for a number of years until retiring in 2002. In his retirement, he worked part time for Fuccillo Chrysler Jeep Dodge in Amsterdam. Dave enjoyed fishing, traveling, and restoring antique furniture. He loved spending time with family and friends, especially when it came to his two granddaughters. Christmas was a very special time for him. Survivors include his daughter, Jessica Leigh Mintzer of Albany; his two sons, Justin David (Jessica) Mintzer of Largo Florida and Morgan Edmonds Mintzer of Albany; three brothers, Gary Mintzer of Boynton Beach, FL, Mark Mintzer of Vero Beach, FL and Paul Mintzer of Vero Beach, FL; two granddaughters, Jordyn and Jayda; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Family and friends are invited to attend A Celebration of Life, Wednesday evening, October 26, 2016, at Dave's home, 15 Wilkes Ave, Amsterdam from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made in Dave's memory to the American Heart Association, 440 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205. Please sign the family guest book at www.brbsfuneral.com.
