David Myers

David had a short battle with non-small cell lung cancer and was cared for by his family and the Collier Hospice Center during his final days. Preceding him in death were his mother, Katharine H. Myers; father, Theodore A. Myers; brothers, Mark T. Myers and Randy N. Myers. He is survived by his brothers, Scott and Christopher Myers; sister, Katharine Myers; daughters, Ashley H. Myers and Melissa J. Petersen; step-son, Jeremy W. Hake; granddaughters, Madison Hanke & Peyton Bowers; and grandson, Caden Hanke. David would frequently comment how proud he was of his children and grandchildren to anyone that would listen as they meant the world to him. David graduated from Plainfield High School in New Jersey. David moved out west to study music at the University of Denver. David co-owned a few record stores in Denver and Chicago in the 1970’s as he has a great appreciation for music. He began working in the Oil and Gas industry in the early 80’s, and worked in that industry until 2014. David also dabbled in various other businesses – Silverton Train Treasures and Chautauqua Artisans in Silverton, and multiple Blackjack Pizza locations in the Denver-Metro area. David was an avid outdoorsman and he could often be found spending time 4-wheeling in his Jeep, fishing, riding his horses or spending time with his grandchildren. David was also very interesting in playing and listening to music. David was a man of few words and he always put the needs of others before his own. He will be forever loved and greatly missed by all.
