Paul, David James, 68, of Pinellas Park, died Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Northside Hospital after a battle with cancer. Born in Quincy, MA, Dave was the son of the late Hugh and Beatrice Paul. He was a graduate of North Quincy High, Class of 1962, and attended Quincy Junior College. He served in the US Army during Vietnam. After marrying, Dave and his family moved to historic Plymouth, MA where he was a materials manager for Russelectric for 21 years. He and his wife, Cheryl, started the West Plymouth Youth Basketball League. After moving to Daytona Beach, Florida in 1988, he worked at Hudson Tool and Die in Ormond Beach. After a brief retirement, Dave started Urns of Wood and served funeral home customers nationwide. He was Catholic and attended St. Raphael's Catholic Church in St. Petersburg. He was an avid fan of all Boston sports. He was predeceased by his brother, Richard A. Paul and his sister, Linda E. Paul, both of Quincy. Dave is survived by his beloved wife and soul mate of 45 years, Cheryl A. (Zoia) Paul; his daughter and son-in-law, Nicole "Nikki" and John McQueen of St. Petersburg; his son and daughter-in-law, David, Jr. and Sharon Paul of New Port Richey, FL; four grandchildren, Bailee McQueen, Joshua McQueen, Mekhian Paul and Shaylind Paul; a niece, Sandra (Jack) Lee of Quincy, MA; a nephew, Scott (Norma) Paul of Sacramento, CA; and many loving family members and friends. A gathering of family and friends will be 5 - 7PM Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Anderson-McQueen Funeral Homes, 2201 Dr. ML King Street North, where a Celebration of Life will be at 7PM. Donations may be made in David's memory to the Wounded Warriors Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256.
