My Life Story David Lee Perry of Boise, ID died in his home, on July 8, 2017. He was 74 years old. Dave is survived by his wife, Donna (Scott) Perry and children, Jonathan Perry of Nampa, ID and Robert and Lynn Perry of Yuba City, CA; his six grandchildren; his sister, Linda Marshall of Meridian; and two adopted daughters Joanna Randolph of Brookeville, MD. and Jenni Sanderson of Sutter, CA. He was preceded in death by his daughter Kimberly Dawn Perry and mother, Norma Perry. Dave was born on August 24, 1942 in Mason City, WA to Norma Perry; his father, Loy Perry, having died in a work accident 2 months before his birth. His mother brought Linda and Dave to Boise when they were still young and they grew up in a little house on Grace Street in Boise. He graduated from Boise High School and then, Boise Bible College. He married Donna Scott in1962 and they became young house parents to boys in the Boise Christian Children's Home. Dave and Donna moved to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan in 1964 to take his first pastoral position. While there, Jonathan was born. In 1965, they moved to central Illinois for David to attend Lincoln Christian College. While in central Illinois they welcomed Robert into the family. David graduated with his Master’s degree from Lincoln Christian College before becoming a Chaplin at the Jacksonville State Hospital and Manteno State Mental Hospital. The family returned to Boise in 1974. There he started Maranatha Christian School as their first principal in 1976 before founding New Hope Christian Church in 1979. His real passion was as a hospital Chaplin for the V.A. and Intermountain Hospital. In 1989, Dave and Donna moved to the Bay area of California where Dave took over as pastor of Barrett Avenue Christian Church, Director of Love Inc of West Contra Costa County, Director of the San Pablo Food Pantry, and as Chaplin at several local hospitals. Donna’s career eventually took them to Marysville, CA, where they started a group home for teenage girls. While there, they adopted two teen girls who became their “Chosen” daughters. Dave and Donna returned to Boise to retire in 2014. Dave passed away peacefully in his home after a short illness. A celebration of his life will be held August 12, 2017, 10:00am at Ten Mile Christian Church, 3500 W Franklin Rd., Meridian, ID . All are welcome to attend and celebrate Dave’s life. We Entrusted David Perry's Care To

Accent Funeral Home

A local landmark in Meridian, Accent Funeral Home has been serving the community since 1986. The business was first established with a vision to offer services in a comfortable, homelike atmosphere. This vision is reflected in our building, a Tudor-style home built in 1938 for a local postman. When remodeling the house to accommodate the funeral home, much care was taken to preserve the original architectural integrity of the building. The Accent Funeral Home holds a special relationship with the Meridian community and is sensitive to the area’s changing needs, providing service and friendship to comfort those we serve....
