David Francis Robison

David Francis Robison, "Cork" Born at Mound Park Hospital on October 10, 1928, St. Petersburg, FL.He passed away on December 5, 2013. He went to St. Paul's Catholic School and graduated from St. Petersburg High School where he played basketball and tennis. He earned his degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Notre Dame. He then entered the U.S. Air Force as a 2nd Lieutenant and served 3 years. Following his military service he joined Parsons, Brinkerhoff, Hall and McDonald Engineering firm in New York. He was involved in many significant construction projects including the Hampton Road Tunnel (VA), the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) San Francisco and the original Sunshine Skyway Bridge. He retired from engineering to come back to St. Petersburg to join the family business as President of Robison-Mohr Photo Labs. (RO-MO) He was President of the Photo Marketing Association (PMA), and was a member of the original crew that sailed the USS Bounty from NYC to the St. Petersburg Pier. He was active in many civic groups in St. Petersburg; the Suncoasters, The Festival of States, the Dragon Club was on the Board of Adjustments. He was a member of the St. Pete Yacht Club, past member of Lakewood Country Club, JRB Hunt Club and the NRA. His interests included sports, boating, golf, and hunting. He was pre-deceased by his father Elon C. "Robbie" Robison, his mother Frances "Fran" Robison and his brother Donald E. Robison. His loving children Son, Michael W. (Pam) Robinson, Daughter, Mary L. Robison Son, Timothy D. (Debbie) Robison, Sr. Daughter, Anne I. (Richard) Emnett Son, Brian P. Robison, Daughter, Kathryn P. (Jay) Bowden Six Grandchildren: Timothy (Amanda) Robinson, Jr., Lauren (Ben) Jones, Chelsea (Chase) Donald, Chloe Bowden, Brooks Bowden and Julian Bowden. For those who desire, donations can be made in his name to the SPCA, Friends of Strays or Pet Pal Rescue. A Celebration of David's Life will be at St Petersburg Yacht Club at Pass-a Grille at 2301 Pass A Grille Way, St Pete Beach,FL on Sunday December 8, 2013 from 4-6 PM
