David Shawn Sheppard

David Shawn Sheppard, 48, born October 30, 1969 in Tampa, FL. David got his wings on April 16, 2018. He is pre-deceased by his high school sweetheart and wife, Donna West Sheppard. Sharing in his loss with painful hearts are two beautiful children, Allison and Austin; loving parents, Wallace and Mary; three sisters, Debra Cole (Rex), Cindy Lawrence (Dan) and Lynn; two brothers, Jim (Tracy) and Keith (Cheryl). He was an outstanding soccer player, enjoyed tennis and loved the beach. David was diagnosed at age 15 with Aplastic Anemia and battled this disease and its ensuing complications for 33 years. In 1986 he was the first patient admitted to Moffitt Cancer Center. Despite these difficulties, he went on to college (USF) and obtained his Masters Degree, He worked for the Hillsborough County School System for 24 years serving as a teacher and administrator, as Vice Principal at Wharton High School and Principal at Freedom High. David will be greatly missed by family and friends and will be remembered for his quiet disposition and his love of teaching. The family would like to thank his best friend since age 12, Jim Young, for his constant love and support during this ordeal. A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at New Hope United Methodist Church, 120 N. Knights Ave., Brandon, FL.
