David William Sherman

David W. Sherman Born: March 28, 1969 Date of Passing: February 4, 2013 David was born in Denver, Colorado. He attended schools in Denver and Lakewood, graduating from Bear Creek High in 1987. He attended Barnes Business College and graduated with an Associates Degree in Computerized Accounting. At the time of his death, he was enrolled at C.U. Denver pursuing a Bachelors of Science Degree in business, having completed 1 1/2 years as a part-time student while working full time. David was employed at the corporate office of Sports Authority as an Assistant Buyer-Golf. Prior employment included Assistant Manager of a Sports Authority retail store. David raised his daughter Teena as a single parent. When he was given sole custody of her, he resigned his position in the computer division of AT&T that was requiring travel from home and formed his own company, Elite Maintenance, to enable him to spend more time at home with her. David had two grandsons and 1 on the way. He enjoyed "play" time with them immensely. David had a passion for the outdoors. He ran 2 full marathons and then a half marathon with his sister. He completed 2 Extera triathlons. He had climbed numerous 14ers with the goal of climbing them all in his lifetime. He was an avid fly fisherman and hunter and enjoyed many outings with his brother, his father, and many friends. David is survived by his parents William and Sharron Sherman, his sister Linnea Sherman, his brother Steve Sherman, his daughter Teena Blackshear, and two grandchildren-Steven and Brayden Blackshear with a 3rd grandchild, Gabriel David Blackshear on the way. Dave is also survived by his girlfriend Amy, who he loved very dearly and her daughter, Ally and by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
