David Lee Sigler
July 9th, 1933 - September 2nd, 2021
David Lee Sigler, 88, of Wimauma, FL, passed away on September 2. David was one of five children, one girl and four boys, who went to a two room schoolhouse and attended St. Rita's Church in Kincaid, Illinois. Dave served as an altar boy and later was a member of the Knights of Columbus. After graduating from high school he enlisted in the US Air Force, and spent several years in the reserves. He was a graduate of Illinois State University and Loyola University of Chgo. He was a retired science teacher and principal for 42 years, who loved to hunt and fish. He would enjoy sunrise from a tree stand and maybe miss his target because of the beauty of his surroundings. Favorite times were always family gatherings and the annual trek to the Keys with our children and grandchildren. Fun times with friends and neighbors at social events are what he loved about our community of Valencia Lakes and as a member of the Fishing Club and Military Veterans Club. David is survived by his wife, Marie, son, David (Becky) Sigler, daughter, Dana (Benjamin) Lyle, grandchildren Madison and Maisi Sigler and Harper Lyle. A visitation will be held, Wednesday, September 8, 9:30-10:30 am, at Sun City Center Funeral Home, 1851 Rickenbacker Dr. Sun City Center, FL. A Funeral Mass will be held, September 8, 11:00 am at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Please note- those planning to attend the service must wear a mask as appropriate.
