David J. Snyder

David J. Snyder passed away February 4, 2024, in Lacey, Washington. He was born April 9, 1936, to Barney J. and Viola Marie Snyder in Glensfalls, New York. He lived at Panorama the last 13 years, and previously resided in Chicago, Illinois; Tacoma, Washington; and Olympia, Washington. David attended Utica College in New York, served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a Sergeant (1955-1958), and married Darrel Joan Erickson on November 23, 1963, in Chicago. He attended Devry Tech in Chicago, furthering his education in computer sciences. Professionally, he worked in data processing/computer sciences and computer security. He also was in the police reserves in Chicago and Tacoma. David was a great bowler, loved thoroughbred horse racing, playing the drums, and bicycle riding; he successfully rode the Seattle-to-Portland (STP) bike race four times. He was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Lacey and enjoyed Bible study. He is survived by his wife, Darrel Joan Snyder of Lacey; daughters, Leslie Marie Snyder and wife, Cindy Van Hulle, and Andrea Lynn McClelland and husband, Tim McClelland; and granddaughter, Deilya M. McClelland. He was predeceased by his parents, Barney and Viola Snyder; paternal grandparents, Bubba and Zayde Snyder; and maternal grandparents, Leslie and Anna Cook. Services will be held April 6, 2024, 2:00 p.m. at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 2109 College St. SE, Lacey, WA 98503.
