David Charles Tocci

Mr. David Tocci, 63, died in his sleep January 12, 2024, in Denver, Colorado. David was born on October 20, 1960 at the Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Arizona. 

He was preceded in death by his mother Anne M. (McCarthy) Tocci (1969); his father Vincent R. Tocci (2021); and his sister Regina Tocci (2011). David is survived by his daughter Heather Tocci; his stepmother Margaret (Sweeney) Tocci; his brothers Vincent Tocci Jr. and William Tocci Sr.; and his sisters, Lisa Tocci, Christina “Tina” Tocci, Alexandra “Aly” Moore, and Dana Moore. 

David graduated from Mitchell High School in Colorado Springs in 1978. He went on to receive classical training as a chef de cuisine through the US Department of Labor Culinary Apprenticeship Program for the 5- Star Broadmoor Hotel’s various restaurants. He also completed nearly 6000 hours training in Culinary Arts at Pikes Peak Community College. He won the apprentice division award for chaud-froid decorated hams. David also worked many years for King Soopers in their gourmet meat department and was a part of the Rocky Mountain UFCW Union.

David was charismatic and outgoing. He would run into friends everywhere he went and would help anyone who asked. He always had a new joke and was usually the life of the party. He also loved sports. He spent much of his younger years playing on a soccer team as the goalie. When he wasn’t playing sports, he was watching sports. He was a loyal fan of the Broncos, Nuggets, and Rockies. 

A memorial service will be held for him in Colorado Springs, CO at All-States Cremation at 1020 E. Fillmore St. on Monday, February 26th at 4:30 pm.

A memorial mass will also be held at Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 3305 Glen Carlyn Rd, Falls Church, VA on Saturday, April 13th at 10:00 am.
