Funeral Alternatives of Washington - Tumwater
David Harold Wills
August 30th, 1947 - May 2nd, 2009
On May 2, 2009 David lost his 14 month hard fought battle with leukemia. He was 61 years old but filled all those years with more adventures than many of us can ever imagine. He spent 4 years in the Marine Corp. where he learned the true meaning of friendships. After his own discharge he started sharing his post-war experiences with today's Marines, in hopes that they would not make the mistakes he made. His love of country and the Marines was a constant in his life. He loved his job as Senior Building Inspector with the Port of Seattle because he was blessed with working with people who became cherished friends. These were the people who gave him such tremendous support during his difficult battle. Every email, hour of time donated, and good wishes sent were done by the caring people there. David is survived by his wife, Sharon of Olympia, WA, son and daughter-in-law Josh and Chanda Wills of Las Vegas, NV, daughter Jessica Morgan and 2 grandchildren of Richland, MS, sister Sheila Lewis of Anchorage, AK, brother-in-law Jack Laufer of Tenino, WA, mother and father-in-law Maxine and John Laufer of Centralia, WA and several aunts, uncles and cousins in the Puget Sound area and North Dakota. Instead of flowers the family asks that you donate to the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund. The Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund makes a difference for our wounded heroes and their families during one of the most difficult times in their lives. You can make a donation online at: www.semperfifund.org or by mail to Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund, 825 College Blvd, Suite 102, PMB 609, Oceanside, CA 92057. For donations "in Lieu of Gifts" they ask that you indicate this on the check donation form.
