David Anthony Wilson, St. Petersburg, Fl. - David Anthony Wilson, age 84, left this life on Feb. 20, 2018, at his home in St. Petersburg, Florida. He was affectionately known to his family and many friends as "Dave." Born on June 13, 1933, in Pawtucket, Rhode Island and raised in South Attleboro, Ma., Dave Wilson was an avid traveler ultimately settling down in St. Petersburg, Florida for the remainder of his life. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Patricia Barnett Wilson. He is also survived by three children, Lindsay Ann Wilson, Susan Elizabeth Wilson Walling and husband Jeffrey P. Walling and David Anthony Wilson. Dave is survived by eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, Matthew Daniel Shea, Patrick Andrew Shea and his wife, Jessica , Daniel Paul Lavin, Ellen Carolyn Lavin, Elizabeth Colleen Lavin Owens and her husband Daniel, Harrison Michael Walling, John Thomas Walling, and Joseph Woodrow Walling and his fiancée Joanna Watson. Dave Wilson was a graduate of St. Petersburg High School. After graduating, Dave proudly served in the United States Air Force in England where he met his bride to be, Patricia. Dave served as radar maintenance at Burtonwood Air Force Base from February 1953 to August 1957. After leaving the Air Force, he briefly attended the University of Florida. Dave became a civilian contractor for the United States Military and resided in Spain, England, France, Germany and Italy. Upon returning from his European assignments, Dave graduated in 1973 from the University of South Florida with a degree in accounting. He worked with McKelvey, Ulrich and Wilson accounting firm and as comptroller for Dade City and retired from the city of Tampa. Dave fell in love with Alfa Romeos while living in Italy and became an avid collector of a variety of models. He instilled in his children and grandchildren a love for vintage cars and Formula I racing. As an Alfa Romeo Owners Club member for over thirty years he shared his love and passion for Italian sports cars nationally. Dave attended St. Paul's Catholic Church. Funeral services will be held at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 12th St. N., St. Petersburg, Florida, on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018, at t Condolences can be shared with the family at Mr. Wilson is in the care of Anderson-McQueen Family Tribute Center, 2201 Dr. MLK Jr. Street North, St. Petersburg, Florida
