DAVID R. ZALAR age 79 of Jefferson "home with the Lord" on August 2nd, 2014. Loving husband of; Georgia (Zealley) for 55 years. Proud father of; Tony Zalar, Stephanie (Brett) Boyd, and Sara Sobrofski. "Grampers" to; Corinne and Elise Boyd and Ally and Ben Sobrofski. Dave lived his life by these three priorities-God, family, country. He was a devout follower of Christ, loving family man, and proud, proud, American patriot. After serving in the United States Air Force with a year in Korea, Dave attended Milwaukee School of Engineering on the G. I. Bill, for which he was always grateful. An electrical engineer, Dave worked for Cutler-Hammer, Louis Allis, and retired from Delco Electronics (General Motors) in 1996. Dave and Georgia lived in Wales for 34 years. During that time he was a volunteer EMT, coached soccer and baseball, and was a Boy Scouts and 4-H leader. Dave was often seen running through Wales, and was especially known for having a front yard full of wild flowers. After retirement he found new hobbies in water color painting and stained glass projects. The Wales dragon stained glass piece he made still hangs in the Wales Village Hall. Dave and Georgia have lived in Jefferson for the last 7 years, but in his heart Wales will always be home.
