Dean L. Richmond

Obituary Dean Lewis Richmond, disciple of Christ, passed away quietly in his home in Wellington, Colorado on January 25, 2021 at the age of 82. He was surrounded by his family and is loved and honored by many. He was a loving husband and father of six children. Dean was born on January 17, 1939 in Trenton, New Jersey to Walter Dean and Marion Esther (Antheil) Richmond. He attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York. He was employed as a computer hardware technician by New York Telephone, Dunn & Bradstreet, and Modular Computers. His career took him and his family from New Jersey, to New York, and later, Virginia. On June 18, 1960, he married Maureen Mattsson (daughter of Arne and Cecilia Mattsson) in Staten Island, New York. Together, they raised a beautiful family, with one daughter, Kathleen Lynn, and five sons, Dean Robert, Todd William, Bryan Kimball, Troy Walter, and Ross Lewis. Dean was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as bishop and senior missionary, among many callings. He also served as the President of the Norwood-Norfolk School Board. Dean loved working with his hands and was a master carpenter. His hobbies included model trains, canoeing, and camping, and he was a champion archer. He is famous for his apple turnovers. Dean was preceded in death by his father, Walter; his mother, Marion, and a sister, Susan Jane Maldonado. He is survived by his wife, Maureen; his sister, Nancy Irene Nachman; and his children Kathleen (Phil) Drake, Mason, OH; Dean (Deana) Richmond, Edmond, OK; Todd (Heidi) Richmond, Fort Collins, CO; Bryan (Jolene) Richmond, Windsor, CO; Troy Richmond, Fort Collins, CO; and Ross (Amerika) Richmond, Kaneohe, HI.
