Debbie Kae (Foote) Davis Obituary

Debbie Kae (Foote) Davis passed away peacefully on May 4, 2024 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s in the presence of her family in Middleton, Idaho.

Debbie was born March 25, 1954 to Dick and Janie Foote in Twin Falls, Idaho. She was the oldest of five kids.

Debbie attended school in a few different places due to her father’s job as a policeman. Among those were Chicago and Rigby, Idaho, where she would meet lifelong friends. Eventually settling down in Middleton where she would gradate from Middleton High School in 1972. Debbie’s family name is synonymous with the town, a part of history that she was very proud of and instilled in her children. Debbie had two sons, Jarid Davis (1974) and Jeremy Davis (1977).

Debbie loved her family. If she wasn’t making her brother do a project for her she was sitting on her patio with a glass of wine with her sisters or many other friends enjoying the fruits of her labor. She loved her yard and waterfall.

Debbie also had a deep, devoted love for her kids and grandkids. Kaben Davis (2002), Cooper Davis (2004), and Samantha Davis (2006). She would do anything for them. Debbie found so much joy in planning and taking them on vacations as she loved to travel.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Dick and Janie Foote, her sister, Becky (Foote) O’Meara, and her brother, Harold Foote.

Debbie leaves behind her sisters, Cheri Hess and Linda (Ray) Garner, her two sons, Jarid Davis and Jeremy (Jennifer) Davis as well as her beloved grandchildren, Kaben Davis, Cooper Davis, and Samantha Davis, and one great grandchild, Ella Davis.

Debbie’s love of music and holidays will be remembered and her traditions will live on in all of us. May she rest in peace with a sound mind and body.

There will be a graveside service at Middleton Cemetery in Middleton, Idaho on Monday, May 13, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. A celebration of life will be held at the Trolley Station, 310 Cornell, Middleton, Idaho immediately following the graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a monetary contribution c/o Debbie Davis to The Cottages, 760 W Main St., Middleton, Idaho 83644.

I am sorry for your loss, the journey with Alzheimer's is a long and twisted road. I pray that you will find comfort in warm memories, stories and in time, peace. I'd like to share this story of Debbie with you. Debbie and I became immediate friends, meeting at Rigby High in 1970, as we were both from Middleton, Idaho. In time, Debbie moved with her family to Evanston, Illinois, and I, back to Middleton. We stayed in touch, sending handwritten letters to each other every couple of weeks, sharing adventures, challenges and dreams. Fast forward to spring of 1971. I had to step away from school late in the spring semester for health reasons. Soon it was August, and everyone was gearing up for our senior year. My phone rang one morning, and it was Deb, she asked if I was going to be home and indicated she'd like to come by. Later that day, a knock at the door and there was Deb and Judy Winters, hot and tired! They had ridden their bikes from Middleton to Caldwell, to check on me. The purpose of the visit was to talk to me about returning to Middleton High School and completing my senior year. Both were concerned that I wouldn't feel comfortable doing so. Deb really encouraged me to return and reminded me of how important completing one's education was. This visit made a significant difference in my life at the time. This act of caring and kindness was a gift, giving me the courage I needed to face the future. I did return and graduated with my class in spring of 1972. I have thought of this memory often. This says a lot about the character of a 17-year-old girl, who became the woman she was, the woman you knew and the friend now passed. I saw Deb last on November 5, 2022. During that visit I recalled this story with her, and I believe she did remember, it brought a smile to her face and tears to my eyes. I want to believe I gave her a gift that day, a glimmer, a reflection of joy and friendship. May she rest in God's peace, Patricia Ferris Le Roy
