September 18th, 1963 - January 7th, 2017
Passed away peacefully at her home Saturday Jan 7th, 2017 from Cancer! She was born September 18, 1963 at St. Marys hospital, Waterbury CT. to Noella (Normandin) DeSantis and Edgar Normandin. Deborah joined the Navy Jun of 1981 where in her 30 years of naval service she achieved her highest rank as Master Chief Information Technician, Surface /Air Warfare Specialist, She also accomplished higher education with a Bachelors Degree and a Master certificate in Space Science at the Naval Academy. Deb started her Career in the navy as a (DP) Data Processer which later changed to (IT) Information Technician. Debs history of commands are as followed; Recruit training, Orlando Fl, Navy Military personal command, Washington DC, Intelligence center pacific, Camp Smith, Navy data automation facility, Pearl Harbor HI, Joint command information systems, Taegu Korea, Joint data systems support command Ft Richie MD, USS Samuel Gompers (AD-37) Alameda CA, Defense information systems agency pacific, Wheeler army airfield HI, Navy management support office, San Diego CA, USS Boxer (LHD-4) San Diego CA, Naval ocean processing facility, Whidbey Island WA, Senior Enlisted academy Newport RI, with her last command as the Leading Master Chief for the communications department onboard the USS Mt Whitney (LCC-20) Gaeta Italy. She met her husband Tony Brooks while in the Navy and later married the love of her life! The two of them dedicated their lives to their nation and the naval service! During this time they had the fortunate opportunity to see the world and many unique and wonderful places. Together they met many people in their journeys along the way sharing memories from all over Europe and the world that they would never forget. Deb retired from the Navy on July of 2011 where she later relocated to her dream home in Graham Washington with Tony, they resided in their home for 6 years where Debs passion for her yard, garden and animals along with her love of life, she loved spending time with friends, family, and her two dogs Chief and Buddy. One of her favorite joys was spending time with her mother going to the local casinos and playing Bingo with friends they met in the halls. She also loved her longtime friends from school back in Waterbury CT, which gave her great joy whenever they had the opportunities to meet and reconnect about the times they shared growing up. Deb had so many joys and interests, when she was ready to just go out and explore life, she made the most of every moment! She was a role model, a confident, and an inspiration; her spirit impacted so many lives. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her Father Edgar Normandin. She is survived by her Husband Anthony Brooks, Her Mother Noella (Normandin) DeSantis, Brother Brian Normandin, and Brother Edward Normandin I would like to give special thanks to; Edwards Memorial, Tahoma National Cemetery services, the Color Guard, and the Chiefs Mess from the USS Mt Whitney (LCC-20) Services will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent Washington February 3rd 2017 at 2:00pm
